History of Muirhouse Millennium Centre

The Muirhouse Millennium Centre was completed and handed over to the Board of Directors on 31 March 2000. It officially opened on Friday 25 August 2000 and since then has gradually built up a reasonable level of visitors through a variety of activities.
The facilities in the building are good and the management team are in place and performing well. Muirhouse Millennium Centre is owned and run by an existing Board of Directors made up of 15 local people, elected annually at the Annual General Meeting and assisted by representatives from the Community Education Department and the National Playing Fields Association.
The Centre is funded by a three year grant of £94,147 per year from the North Edinburgh Social Inclusion Partnership.
