THE CENTRE'S PURPOSE AND VISION

The Mission Statement for the Centre is: -

"We aim to establish a neighbourhood centre at the heart of the Muirhouse Community which will be an attractive, healthy and safe meeting place for local people of all ages. It will provide recreational, educational and other facilities in response to their needs, thus making a vital contribution to the regeneration of the Muirhouse area."

The objectives are: -

• To provide at a low or no cost basis high quality educational, recreational, social and leisure opportunities for the local population.
• Ensuring the fullest possible involvement by the community in the Centre's management
• To maintain full accessibility to the Centre and a commitment to an active equal opportunities policy
• Providing a focus for the local community.

Membership

The bulk of the Membership of the Centre resides within Muirhouse however Membership is open to the wider Greater Pilton area through the requirement of the Social Inclusion Partnership funding.

Current membership is Adults - 103, Children - 49 use of the Centre however is not dependent on being a member of the Centre.
